Ann Oakley on “Interviewing Women: A Contradiction in Terms?”
mmusylviapankhurstgenderresearch, November 3, 2016
Here is some really accessible reading on feminist ethics. Ann Oakley, one of the pioneers of the second wave of feminism, within the academy, researched motherhood during the 1970s. Here she reflects on the nonsense she encountered in traditional understandings of research interviewing and creates a feminist challenge to some of this received wisdom.
We will be discussing feminist ethics at our internal centre meeting on December 6th. So you might want to read this chapter if you are coming to that. Otherwise, you might simply find this interesting.
Please remember to email Kate firstname.lastname@example.org if you plan on attending the meeting on 6 December
